SCWW High School Junior/Senior Literary Awards 2008 - Deadline March 12

The South Carolina Writers' Workshop announces the 2008 writing competition for high school juniors and seniors enrolled in any South Carolina public or private school or homeschool. First and Second place winners in fiction, non-fiction and poetry categories will receive csash prizes. There is no entry fee and submissions must be postmarked no later than March 12, 2008. 19th Annual Writer's Workshop - March 28-29

Sponsored by the Foothills Writers Guild, will be held March 28-29, 2008 at Anderson University in Anderson, S.C. Ron Rash, author of "One Foot in Eden," will present the keynote address on "Becoming a Writer." Other guest speakers will include Jane Friedman, editorial director of Writer's Digest Books; Gil Allen, poet and professor at Furman University; Yvonne Lehman, inspirational romance novelist; Maureen Ryan Griffin, poet and non-fiction author; and Vonda Skelton, novelist and non-fiction writer.

Registration is $150. Friday only registration is $45; Saturday only, $115. Student registration is $25. Friday only for students is $10 and Saturday only is $15. Fees include workshop, materials, snacks, Friday evening meal, continental breakfast, and Saturday luncheon.
