Silent Auction

Each year we hold a silent auction to help defray conference costs. This year’s auction begins at 8:00 am on Friday, October 24th, and runs until 12:30 pm on Sunday, October 26th. The winning bidders will claim their prizes at the conference registration desk at the end of the auction.

All auction items will be on display near the conference meeting rooms throughout the conference. We’ll have baskets of books and other writer goodies prepared by our local chapters—these have been a favorite in past years. Many will have themes, such as Short Story, Science Fiction, Southern Fiction, etc., and several will appeal to any writer.

We’ll also have WebforAuthors certificates. Most of you are familiar with WebforAuthors.com, but, if not, please check this fabulous tool out at www.webforauthors.com. Specifically designed for authors, this service allows you to create and maintain your own website, and includes tools to help you market your work as well.

You’ll also find South Carolina art and craft items, and, of course, everyone’s favorite, faculty book-length critiques. Bidding was lively on these last year, so check the bid sheets often! Having professionals of this caliber read and critique your entire manuscript and offer advice is not something available for sale, anywhere, at any price. But you can bid on one at the conference!

Please remember, all auction proceeds go to our organization, to help us offer the best conference possible at an affordable price, and support other programs throughout the year.

Please bring checks or cash for the auction, as SCWW will not have the necessary equipment to process credit cards at the conference.
