Silent Auction

SCWW holds a silent auction during the conference to help defray conference costs. This year, bidding opens at 9 a.m. on Friday, October 21 and will end at 9:15 a.m on Sunday, October 23. The winning bidders will pay at the information desk beginning at 10:15 a.m Sunday, then claim their prize at the proctor station. We will accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, checks and cash.

All auction items will be on display near the conference classrooms. We'll have baskets of books and other writer goodies prepared by local chapters. Many will have themes, such as science fiction, women's fiction, travel, children's, etc.

You'll also find South Carolina arts and crafts items, and of course, faculty book-length critiques! Bidding has been lively for these in the past, so check the bid sheets often. Having professionals read and critique your manuscript and offer advice is not something available for sale, no matter the price. But faculty members have been gracious enough to donate their time and expertise for our group.

All auction proceeds go to SCWW and help us keep the conference registration costs low. While we understand that budgets are tight, please keep in mind that SCWW can’t keep the cost of our annual conference low without funding. Over the years, we’ve found this the best way – offering goods and services from artists around the country in exchange for your bids.
